Rehabilitation in Puglia

Another post, living evidence that this blog is back for all those who were beyond disbelief. For all those who woke up this morning and frantically checked their inbox again, scouring for the last post, perhaps already resigned to believing visions of further writings from this page must’ve come only from some loose tangent of an almost forgotten dream, before feeling an unparalleled intensity of hope and joy when my message was then found again; ‘It’s true!’ you exclaimed to yourself, ‘He HAS returned!’.

And how do I know you felt all this? Well of course it wasn’t from the comments and emails I received expressing such joys, for as for them, there were none.  It is instead only because I know you. You, my audience; a refined and classy bunch by none other than default. Not the 21st century hooligan type, the type no longer taken to the physical streets but instead the alleys of the internet, where upon which roads such a character proceeds to verbally vomit upon every Henry, Harry, Sally and Mustaf that uploaded, wrote, commented on any video, article, or other comment. No, as I stated, you are a refined bunch; armchair travellers, classy collectors of cultural corpulence, ones to ingest and silently, slowly digest that which is seen here. You, my refined bunch who so contented with yourselves and freed of insecurity, feel no need to share and expend your words into this digital abyss out and upon to the ears of anonymity. A simple raised eyebrow, followed by a fleeting fist-pump, and a wry smile to accompany you to bed that evening… this, this was more than enough for you refined men and women to cement your joy at my return.

This is how dignified and self-satisfied you are, and for this you have my respects. While for me, solely intuitively knowing how you felt was enough, so do not worry for me and my feelings. And hence, If people tell you that I have been crying like a drunken girl upon a 3am Friday-night doorstep for the last two days over the fact that no-one contacted me to show their gratitude or happiness that I was returning to look after this public body of work that has consumed so many hours of the last year of my life, know now that this is clearly a lie.

SHIT. I have done it again. There was a post here to be written, but yet again it has been taken over by ramblings.

Next time friends, next time.

Must say, always a joy to read…but your writing seems to have really progressed.

Damn those silent lurkers of which I’m sure there are many. Sneaky slurkers.
